Blue Mountain Christian’s Riddle, Nordstrom Earn NAIA Second-Team All-American Honors
Kansas City, Mo. — Blue Mountain Christian University’s Cobey Riddle and Alex Nordstrom have been named NAIA Second-Team All-Americans, marking a significant achievement for the Toppers during their sophomore campaigns, according to the school.
Both golfers played key roles in helping BMCU stay ranked inside the top 15 nationally and finished among the top 25 individual players in the NAIA, based on Clippd rankings. Nordstrom was 22nd nationally, while Riddle was 24th.
Riddle opened the season with a victory at the Coastal Georgia Men’s Fall Invitational and maintained consistency throughout the year. He recorded four top-10 finishes and finished 15th at the NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship, competing against the nation’s best golfers.
Nordstrom also delivered an impressive season, with seven top-10 finishes. His best result came at the Carey Collegiate, where he shot seven strokes under par. During that event, Nordstrom fired a historic third-round score of 65 on a par-71 course, setting a program record for Blue Mountain Christian.
Head Coach Kevin Barefield expressed pride in the players’ achievements. “Moments like this are incredibly rewarding because you know the journey behind it,” he said. “Alex and Cobey worked tirelessly to reach this level. They competed at a high level all year and led our team with consistency, humility, and heart. Earning NAIA Second-Team All-American honors reflects their dedication and performance this season.”
