Ripley gets its next chance to return to .500 against an unbeaten visitor Friday, when East Webster brings a 3–0 football record to the Tigers’ home field for a 7 p.m. kickoff. The 1–2 Tigers begin a three-game home stretch as Tippah County teams prepare for volleyball, golf and cross-country contests.
No completed varsity result from Wednesday, Sept. 16, was verified for Tippah County’s five high schools. This roundup therefore looks ahead to each program’s next posted event. All times are Central; dates are in 2026 unless noted.
Walnut’s football team, 2–1, visits Alcorn Central on Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. Falkner next hosts East Union on Sept. 25 at 7 p.m.
Before those kickoffs, Pine Grove puts its 6–1 district volleyball mark against visiting Biggersville on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 6 p.m. Falkner hosts Thrasher at the same time. Ripley next welcomes Senatobia on Sept. 21 at 6; Walnut visits New Site on Sept. 22 at 6, following Tuesday’s home sweep of the Royals.
The North Tippah calendar lists Thursday golf trips to Booneville for Walnut at 8:30 a.m. and Falkner at 2 p.m., the latter a nine-hole match. Ripley’s next golf listing is an 18-hole event at Hillendale on Sept. 22, with no starting time on the South Tippah calendar. Those entries do not separate boys’ and girls’ teams or name the opposition; Pine Grove has no next golf event posted.
Saturday sends Blue Mountain, Pine Grove and Walnut to the Ingomar Invitational at BNA Tennis Park in New Albany: varsity girls run at approximately 9 a.m., boys at 9:30. Ripley’s girls and boys race at Saltillo High School at 5 and 5:45 p.m., respectively. Falkner has no next cross-country meet currently listed.
