Anthony Morgan has been named the 2025-2026 1st Franklin Financial Tippah County Sports Male Athlete of the Year following a standout career across multiple sports at Falkner High School.
Morgan established himself as one of the area’s top all-around athletes during his time with the Eagles, excelling in football, powerlifting, basketball, baseball and tennis.
On the football field, Morgan earned Region 2-1A Overall Player of the Year honors and was named All-State after a record-breaking senior season. He set the Falkner school record for total touchdowns and tied the school’s rushing touchdown record while helping lead the Eagles with his versatility and athleticism.
Morgan also made his mark in powerlifting, finishing second at the state meet while setting a state record in the deadlift.
In addition to his success in football and powerlifting, Morgan competed in basketball, baseball and tennis during his high school career, showcasing his ability to contribute across a wide range of sports.
Following his senior season, Morgan received collegiate opportunities from Ottawa University and East Mississippi Community College before deciding to continue his football career at Alcorn State University as a preferred walk-on.
Morgan leaves Falkner as one of the most accomplished multi-sport athletes in recent school history and a major part of the Eagles’ athletic success over the past several years.
