Lady Panthers get six extra base hits to pull away from New Site in district win

Pine Grove built a 6-0 lead headed to the sixth inning thanks to extra base hits in all but one frame. The Lady Royals pulled to within 2 runs thanks to a 4-run top of the sixth.

Jazzie Smithey launched a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth and Pine Grove held in the 7th inning to take a 9-4 victory.

The win moved Pine Grove to 13-1 on the season with their lone lose being to defending 3A state champion Booneville.

Memory Mauney had three hits including a pair of doubles, Ellie Fryar scored four runs and had a pair of RBI on a triple and a double, and Smithey had a trio of RBI on three hits that included a double and the sixth inning homer. Madison Foster added a pair of hits for a pair of RBI.

Lizzie Meeks took the win in the circle, striking out 8 in the complete game victory.

The Lady Panthers are back in action Saturday on the road against Biggersville.
