Ripley races to early lead and cruises to first round playoff victory
The Ripley Tigers used a big first quarter cushion, stellar defense and a spread out scoring load to defeat IAHS in the first round of the state playoffs on Tuesday by a score of 57-32.
The Tigers jumped out to a 17-6 first quarter lead that they never relinquished en route to the big win.
Ripley got double doubles from Montrae Mason (12&11) and Alex Prather (12&10) to control the tempo and offset the size advantage of the Indians from IAHS.
The win moved the Tigers to 26-3 on the season and into the second round.
In the round of 16, Ripley is set to face Gentry. That game is set for Saturday at 7 pm at the Ripley Event Center.
