Ripley’s Steve Willey named statewide girls basketball coach of the year

A season for the books just got even sweeter for Ripley head basketball coach Steve Willey.

Coach Willey was named the MAC girls basketball statewide coach of the year, according to a post from MAC on Twitter.

Willey led the Lady Tigers to a 32-2 record and a 4A state title in 2020, his first as a head coach.

It was the Lady Tigers 3rd trip to the state title game in 4 years.
