Blue Mountain Christian Men’s Soccer Battles Freed-Hardeman to 1-1 Draw

Henderson, Tenn. — Blue Mountain Christian University’s men’s soccer team battled Freed-Hardeman University to a 1-1 draw Tuesday night. Neither team could find a late winner as the match ended in a stalemate.

The Toppers struck first in the 22nd minute, with Yalin Alici scoring after an assist from Murilo Andrade. Alici continued to threaten the Lions’ goal, putting two headers on target in the first half, but Freed-Hardeman goalkeeper Gaspar Bourdon saved both attempts. Blue Mountain goalkeeper Luan Nascimento also made a key save in the final minute of the first half to keep the game scoreless at halftime.

Freed-Hardeman applied pressure early in the second half, but Nascimento kept the Lions at bay with two saves in the opening 13 minutes. The Lions equalized in the 79th minute when David Hajduk scored. Both teams searched for a winning goal in the final minutes, with BMCU creating two chances through Samuel Davi Cavalcante. Nascimento made another critical save in the 83rd minute to preserve the draw.

Neither side scored again, resulting in a 1-1 result. Nascimento finished with six saves for the Toppers, while Alici’s goal and Andrade’s assist highlighted the match.
