Blue Mountain Christian Men’s Soccer Tops Brewton-Parker 4-1
Mount Vernon, Georgia — Blue Mountain Christian’s men’s soccer team scored four goals Thursday night to beat Brewton-Parker 4-1 in an SSAC game.
Davi Rainato opened the scoring for BMCU just 3 minutes, 3 seconds into the match, assisted by Murilo Andrade. Brewton-Parker responded in the 17th minute when Ilyas Nazih scored to tie the game at 1.
Less than two minutes later, Santiago Estebanez put the Toppers back in front with a goal assisted by Sammuel Davi Cavalcante. BMCU carried a 2-1 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Cavalcante extended the advantage in the 69th minute with a goal off an assist from Alfonso Vasquez. Estebanez added his second goal of the night in the 80th minute to seal the 4-1 victory.
The Toppers finished with 11 shots, eight on goal. Estebanez scored on both of his attempts, while Cavalcante contributed a goal and an assist. Rainato also scored for BMCU, and Andrade and Vasquez each had an assist. Luan Nascimento played all 90 minutes in goal, recording three saves and allowing one goal.
The win improves Blue Mountain Christian’s overall record to 5-2-3 and 2-1-1 in SSAC play. The team is set to face Thomas University on Saturday.
