Blue Mountain Christian Men’s Soccer beats Central Baptist 2-1

Blue Mountain Christian’s men’s soccer team returned to the win column Tuesday afternoon, defeating Central Baptist College 2-1 in non-conference action at The Summit.

The Toppers controlled much of the match offensively, outshooting the Mustangs 23-3 and putting 10 shots on goal. They opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Dipanda Silva Jr. scored off assists from Davi Vieira and Guilherme Aguiar, giving BMCU a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Blue Mountain Christian continued its offensive pressure after the break and doubled its lead in the 67th minute. Santiago Estebanez scored at 66:51, providing what became the game-winning goal. Central Baptist rallied late, with Mackenzie Vincent scoring in the 87th minute off an assist from Jack McNamara, but the Toppers held on to win 2-1.

The Toppers finished with a 23-3 advantage in shots, including a 10-1 edge in shots on goal. They also earned seven corner kicks compared to two for Central Baptist. The victory improves Blue Mountain Christian’s record to 4-1-3 on the season.
