Blue Mountain Christian Men’s Soccer Draws with Point in SSAC Match

Blue Mountain Christian’s men’s soccer team extended its unbeaten streak in SSAC play with a 1-1 draw against Point University on Saturday. The match took place in West Point, Georgia, and improved the Toppers’ overall record to 3-1-2 and their conference record to 1-0-1.

Blue Mountain struck first in the 25th minute, with Guilherme Aguiar scoring off an assist from Sammuel Davi Cavalcante at the 24:36 mark. Point responded less than two minutes later, with Joao Fernandes scoring off an assist from Kevin Richards at 26:31, leveling the score at 1-1.

The match remained tied through halftime, leading to a defensive battle in the second half. Point managed two shots on goal, both saved by Blue Mountain goalkeeper Luan Nascimento. The Toppers generated three shots and earned three corner kicks after halftime but were unable to find a winning goal.

Nascimento played all 90 minutes, finishing with two saves. Blue Mountain finished the game with six shots, while Point had eight. The Skyhawks held a 3-1 advantage in shots on goal and a narrow 4-3 edge in corner kicks. The draw earned Blue Mountain four points in their first two SSAC matches of the season.
