Blue Mountain Christian Women’s Soccer Draws with Brewton-Parker 1-1

Mount Vernon, Georgia — Blue Mountain Christian University’s women’s soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Brewton-Parker on Thursday evening in SSAC action.

The match remained scoreless through the first 45 minutes. In the 54th minute, Nayelli Aguayo scored for the Topper attack, giving BMCU a 1-0 lead. Aguayo was a constant threat throughout the game, finishing with five shots, all on target.

Despite the setback, Brewton-Parker pressed forward and equalized in the 73rd minute when Daria Cwynar scored. The teams traded chances late, but neither team found the winning goal before the final whistle.

Blue Mountain Christian finished with 13 shots, 12 on goal. Daniela Vazquez Nieto added three shots with two on target, while Alba Luque Hernandez and Maria Eduarda Koespel each recorded two shots on goal. Taylor Duggar also had a shot on target.

Starting goalkeeper Kiana Gordon made two saves before leaving the game due to injury in the 54th minute. Krisslyn Boyles replaced her and made one save over the final 36 minutes and 47 seconds. Blue Mountain Christian is scheduled to play again Saturday against Thomas University.
