Ripley moves one step closer to return trip to Jackson with big playoff win
The Lady Tigers moved one step closer to a return trip to the Big House with a resounding 74-39 victory over Clarksdale.
Ripley led from start to finish in a contest that was punctuated by tenacious defense and a monster game from junior standout Siarra Jackson, who finished with a game-high 31 points and 15 rebounds.
Ripley led 18-10 after the first quarter and they did most of their damage in transition as Amelya Hatch scored 10 in the opening frame. The lead would only swell from there.
Hatch finished with 21 points and 7 assists, mostly on drive and dish situations to Jackson. Summer Kirkman played her normal stellar defense and contributed 8 points and 12 boards.
With the victory, the Lady Tigers have a 4th meeting with arch rival New Albany to determine who moves on for a chance at the state championship. That game is Thursday with tip-off set for 7 pm at the Ripley Event Center.
