Preview and How to Watch Walnut vs Ashland Football LIVE

Walnut is taking on Ashland tonight to kick off the high school football season in Tippah County and RCTV 19 will have a live broadcast of the Tippah County Sports game of the week.

PREVIEW:

Walnut comes in to the contest against Ashland having never lost to the Blue Devils, sporting a 3-0 record. Last year, Walnut defeated Ashland 40-0 to open the season.

For the Wildcats, they look to start the season with another win and their backfield will set the tone for how the contest goes.

The big back duo of Kammarian Gray and Zyler Clifton accounted for over 1500 yard of offense and 22 touchdowns a season ago. Add to the mix senior Drew Jackson, a 3 year starter at quarterback, and veteran receiver Jack Leak and the Wildcats have plenty of production returning on the offensive side of the ball.

On defense, Gray and Clifton will anchor the line as defensive ends. Senior Evan Conrad will play in the middle at nose guard as the Wildcats will use a 3 man front primarily. Walnut will rotate several in and out at linebacker, including Trent Braddock, Tyler Rowell and Isaiah Sauceda among others.

For Ashland, look for the Blue Devils to try and hit the big play. Second year quarterback Carlson Frison will try and get the ball to speedsters like Orlando Evans and Anthony Morgan.

Ashland doesn’t bring back much on the defensive side and will play a host of freshman and sophmores. How they compete under the Friday night lights is to be determined.
