Pine Grove gets pair of wins on road at Blue Mountain

The Panthers and Lady Panthers started off district play with a pair of victories on the road over Blue Mountain on Tuesday.

In boys action, the Panthers used a big run between the second and third quarter led by sophmore Carson Rowland, who went for 23 points in those two periods. He finished with 27 in the 61-47 victory .

Mason Bullock hit for 15 for Pine Grove while David Peterson and Trenton Gray each scored 12 to lead the Cougars.

Pine Grove moved to 6-1 on the season. Blue Mountain fell to 6-3.

In girls action, the Lady Panthers built a 23-2 lead early and led 41-11 at halftime en route to a 68-28 victory over the Lady Cougars.

The win moved Pine Grove to 5-2 on the season while Blue Mountain dropped to 3-7.

Pine Grove was led Bella Jumper and Loren Elliott with 13 and Kenzie Miller with 12. Blue Mountain’s Teauna Foote had a game high 14.
