FALKNER — Ethan Adams delivered a huge performance Friday night as Falkner controlled the game from beginning to end in a 40-0 shutout victory over Middleton.

Adams rushed for 148 yards and five touchdowns, providing the offensive spark for an Eagles team that built a commanding lead early and paired it with a dominant defensive performance.

Falkner wasted little time taking control.

Adams opened the scoring with a 14-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to give the Eagles a 6-0 advantage. Jonis Flynn followed with another rushing touchdown later in the quarter as Falkner quickly established control of the game.

Adams went back to work in the second quarter.

He scored on an eight-yard touchdown run for his second touchdown of the night before Falkner converted a two-point attempt to extend the lead to 20-0.

Later in the quarter, Adams found the end zone again, this time on a four-yard run, giving him three first-half touchdowns and sending Falkner into halftime with a commanding 26-0 lead.

The Eagles continued to add to their advantage in the second half, with Adams scoring twice more on the ground to finish his night with five rushing touchdowns.

By the final whistle, Adams had accumulated 128 rushing yards while accounting for five of Falkner’s six touchdowns.

Falkner also found success through the air behind quarterback Asa Childs. Childs completed 3-of-4 passes for 68 yards, with all three completions going to Flynn.

Flynn finished with 68 receiving yards, including a 45-yard reception, while also contributing a rushing touchdown. He made an impact defensively as well with a sack.

Falkner also got a 30-yard run from Alberson as the Eagles showed they had multiple ways to move the football.

As impressive as Falkner’s offense was, the defense may have been even more dominant.

The Eagles held Middleton to just seven yards of total offense. The Tigers finished with minus-two rushing yards and only nine yards through the air while recording just one first down.

Middleton completed only one of six pass attempts, with Brandon Lynn connecting with Jacob Watkins for nine yards.

Falkner consistently pressured the Middleton backfield throughout the night. Flynn and Ayden Adams each recorded sacks, while Alberson recovered a fumble.

The Eagles were able to dominate despite being flagged nine times for 70 yards, never allowing Middleton to take advantage of the mistakes.

It was an impressive all-around performance for Falkner, with the defense pitching a shutout and Adams repeatedly finishing drives on the offensive side of the football.

When the night was over, Falkner had a 40-0 victory and Adams had put together one of the biggest individual performances of the opening week.
