Ripley took on Ingomar in a highly anticipated matchup in high school basketball that lived up to its billing. The Lady Tigers fell to the 3 time defending state champion Lady Falcons while the boys picked up a big early season win in the nightcap.
The girls game was a hard fought loss for Ripley as they fell to one of the premier girls programs in Mississippi 55-45. The Lady Tigers played a gritty game with a never quit mentality that makes this loss one they can build off of.
In the boys side, Ripley set the pace with superb individual and team defense, forcing Ingomar into numerous five second calls and not allowing Ingomar to get the hall in bounds several times. The 52-47 win for the Tigers was highlighted by Jesus Ruedas 16 and Asa Howards 12.
