Pine Grove– (Girls) The Lady Panthers faced off against a quality 1A opponent on Homecoming Friday night and pulled away late for a big win.
Pine Grove downed the visiting Wheeler Lady Eagles 60-41 thanks to a 18-9 fourth quarter to move to 8-3 on the season.
The Lady Panthers were led by Karlie Rogers with 19 points. Loren Elliott, who earlier in the night was recognized for scoring her 2000th point, had 14. Bella Jumper had 12. Kenzie Miller contributed 11.
(Boys) The Panthers got off to a slow start but turned up the intensity in the second half to cruise to a 61-47 victory over Wheeler.
With the win, Pine Grove has exceeded their win total from a season ago, moving to 10-1 on the year.
Carson Rowland led the Panthers with 27 points. Cade Wilder and Jack Hudson each contributed 11 for the Panthers.
Pine Grove travels to Walnut on Tuesday for a match against the Wildcats. Tip-off is set for 6 pm for the girls.
