Tigers turn in dominant performance as they shut out Holly Springs to move to 2-0

Ripley’s new scoreboard was on the fritz to start the Tigers contest against the visitors from Holly Springs.

The Tigers offense nearly broke the clock with an onslaught of points.

Ripley moved to 2-0 on the season with a 62-0 dismantling of the Hawks of Holly High on Friday.

“I kept telling them to not let up, and they responded,” Tiger Head Coach Perry Liles said of his teams dominant performance.

Ripley got on the board with a little over 8 minutes to play in the first quarter on a three yard direct snap to Immanuel Griffin. The Tiger offensive line did what it did for the rest of the night: moved a pile of bodies.

The Tigers would get a 4th down stop on the ensuing Hawk possession to take over just inside mid-field.

Griffin would bust loose two plays later, this time from 42 yards out to give the Tigers a 14-0 lead.

The scoreboard would come back on, but the points would keep piling up as the Tigers scored from all over the field. Ripley would outgain the Hawks 396-101 on the night.

Griffin would add another pair of rushing scores to finish with 162 yards on the night and a trio of touchdowns. Chazton Crudup put up a pair of highlight reel touchdowns with a 5 yard sweeping touchdown that he dived in to the endzone to finish off and a 60 yard punt return touchdown.

The Tigers got scores from Joseph Smith, Jaylen Brooks and Aidin Wilson to finish out the scoring.

Ripley forced 5 turnover on downs on the night, recovered a pair of fumbles and got a Labron Vance interception to keep Holly Springs out of the end zone.

The Tigers are on the road next week at Kossuth, who was off this week.
