Tigers take 4th straight with win over Hamilton
Ripley used a proven winning strategy to pick up their 4th straight win on Tuesday.
Get runners on base, move them around and wait for timely big hits. Oh, and let Cade Davis do his thing.
Davis was stellar in the Tigers 8-1 win over Hamilton, pitching 6 innings, striking out 11 and scattering four hits. The win moved Ripley to 6-1 on the year.
A plethora of quality at bats were on display in the winning effort, with sacrifice bunts, sac-fly’s, and RBI doubles taking the day on offense.
After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, the Tigers got a 2-RBI double from Lucas Cartwright with the bases loaded to take a lead they would never surrender.
With Davis cruising along, the game was broken open in the 4th inning, starting with a perfect bunt from Jak Ketchum followed by a Hamilton throwing error that allowed Cartwright to score from second base.
The Tigers then got a walk from Drew Coombs to reload the bases before Reed Scott and Reed Shackelford scored Hayden Fortune and Ketchum to give Ripley a 6-1 lead.
Ripley is set to play Lake Cormorant (5-3) at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at NEMCC’s Field of Dreams complex.
